Rooted on Stage: Introducing Our Collaboration with Souletri’s Open Stage Experience
At The Holding Atelier, design is never static—it breathes, transforms, and responds to the environment around it. This month, we are thrilled to officially announce our ongoing collaboration with Jose Alicea and the Souletri Open Stage Experience at Two Locals Brewing Co.
As sponsors of this monthly stage experience, @theholdingphl is bringing an evolving series of floral designs paired with our trademarked Higher Opulence™ ceramic line to frame the artists who take the mic. Every session serves as a fresh canvas: starting as a seed of an idea, our stage designs will grow, adapt, and transform month by month alongside the performers.
The Plot Twist: Embracing the Unexpected
Standing directly beside our inaugural stage piece—The Autumn Ember Planter—sits a quiet invitation: The Plot Twist.
While the main program delivers incredible, polished local talent, the Plot Twist introduces an added challenge specifically for the Souletri Open Stage participants. It’s an on-the-spot creative detour presented to artists during their set—asking them to adapt, change an ending, drop a new line, or draw the audience directly into their piece. Taking the challenge is entirely up to the performer—no pressure, just open space to experiment.
Just as the Plot Twist challenges open mic performers to embrace the unexpected in real time, our living stage installations parallel that same philosophy. Design, like performance, thrives when given full creative freedom to respond dynamically to the energy in the room.
“It’s not just about getting on the mic—it’s an invitation to experiment, be creative, try something new, and make the performance your own.” — Jose Alicea, Founder & Cultural Curator
An Evolving Visual Canvas
Each month, we curate rich floral palettes, organic textures, and Higher Opulence™ ceramic pieces designed to complement the raw talent under the spotlight.
Witnessing local artists command the stage alongside our artwork reinforces why we craft: to honor community, foster connection, and celebrate human expression.
